How to Solve a Murder in 10 Days?

A Gripping New Crime Thriller Set in India

Here’s an exclusive sneak peek from my newly released crime thriller novel — now available on Amazon.

It was 2 a.m., and Chennai lay still. The only sounds were the distant crash of waves along Marina Beach and the faint hum of a passing police patrol.

A hundred yards from the shoreline stood a tall, brightly painted commercial building—bustling with life by day, now eerily silent. A 24-hour gym on the top floor kept a few lights flickering, but the rest of the building slept.

The rooftop served as a parking lot.

An elderly night guard, working more from necessity than strength, sipped the last of his lukewarm tea. As he stood to begin his routine patrol, a sharp pain shot through his knees. How much longer can I do this? he wondered, checking his watch with a sigh.

He took the elevator up, floor by floor, expecting the usual emptiness.

But something felt off on the rooftop.

A sleek BMW sat parked near the edge. The guard recognized it instantly—it belonged to Rajeev Mehta, a regular at the gym who often stayed late. But this… this was too long, even for him.

Cautiously, the guard shuffled toward the vehicle. Thick smoke clouded the windows.

Inside, Rajeev sat motionless, his head slumped back against the headrest. His breath was shallow. His mind raced—a storm of guilt, pressure, and despair.

His mother’s voice echoed in his ears: “Behave yourself. You’re getting married next week. It’s time to grow up.”

A bitter smile crept onto his face. As if marriage would change anything.

Then, without warning, he pressed hard on the accelerator.

The engine roared. Tires screamed. The guard shouted, too late.

The BMW shot forward, smashing into the parapet wall. Concrete cracked and crumbled. Then—silence.

Moments later, the car reversed a few feet.

And surged forward again.

This time, the weakened barrier gave way. The car broke through and plunged over the edge.

A sickening crash echoed through the deserted streets as the vehicle slammed onto the pavement below. The metal frame crumpled on impact. Glass shattered. The front of the car was crushed beyond recognition. Smoke rose from the wreckage, filling the air with the acrid stench of burning fuel.

The car’s automatic emergency system triggered an alert.

But no alert could undo what had just happened.

No one could have survived the fall.
